The NCDF Agric SME Investment Fund is being developed to finance eligible agricultural enterprises and supporting value-chain businesses in Nigeria. The proposed strategy links commercial investment decisions with improved productive capacity, market access and resilient enterprise growth.
Potential investments include production, processing, storage, distribution and services that address clear commercial demand. Selection will consider management capability, buyer relationships, operating costs and the practical route to repayment or exit. Final eligibility and concentration limits will be defined in the mandate.
Seasonal working capital, processing equipment and enterprise expansion have different funding needs. The fund’s permitted instruments and investment duration will be designed around the approved strategy. It should not be assumed that every agricultural enterprise will receive the same form of capital or qualify for investment.
The stated first-phase fundraising objective is US$10 million. NCDF Investment Management Plc is the intended manager, subject to the relevant permissions and completed appointments. The objective does not represent funds already raised. Structure, service providers and offering terms remain to be finalised.
Diligence will consider weather exposure, input costs, product loss, buyer concentration, contract enforceability and cash collection. Development measures may include productive output, employment and market access, using evidence appropriate to the enterprise. Financial and impact reporting will remain distinct and complementary.
We welcome preliminary engagement from eligible investors, agricultural enterprises, buyers, technical partners and development institutions. Investment terms will follow the final mandate and transaction documentation. Any technical-assistance or concessional facility must have separately agreed funding, eligibility and responsibilities; it is not assumed to be available to all investees.
Complete the fund’s governance, investment parameters and regulatory pathway.
Develop a screened pipeline supported by operating records, contracts and realistic cash-flow analysis.
Build monitoring around collections, portfolio concentration, enterprise performance and documented outcomes.
No automatic allocation is represented. Any affiliated investment would require mandate eligibility, independent assessment where appropriate and disclosed conflict-management procedures.
Businesses can request a preliminary discussion and provide an overview of their operations and funding needs. An enquiry is not an approval or a commitment to invest.
Request a briefing to discuss the current position, proposed transaction scope and supporting information.
